Get to the root of your symptoms.
When the standard approach hasn’t brought answers, we uncover what’s driving your symptoms and build a clear, personalized plan for recovery.
Your symptoms are messages
When systems like digestion, energy, sleep, or focus go off track, your body starts sending signals—fatigue, pain, anxiety, skin flare-ups, cravings, or brain fog.
These aren’t random. They’re messages pointing to deeper imbalances like nutrient depletion, inflammation, or microbial and hormonal shifts.
The sooner we listen, the easier it is to restore balance.
Hi, I’m Melanie
I help people who feel stuck with their health make sense of their symptoms and find clear next steps through physiology-first investigation, nutrition, and lifestyle support.
Common reasons people work with me
You don’t need a diagnosis to seek support. We look at the patterns connecting your symptoms to identify the root causes of what is driving them.
People often come to me for help with:
Energy and focus
• Persistent fatigue, brain fog, poor focus, insomnia
Gut and digestion
• Bloating, reflux, constipation, IBS, SIBO
Pain, inflammation, and skin
• Headaches, joint pain, menstrual cramps
• Acne, eczema, psoriasis
Hormones and fertility
• Hormone or thyroid shifts
• PCOS, endometriosis, infertility
Immune, chronic, and post-viral patterns
• Autoimmune and inflammatory conditions
• Long-COVID and post-viral fatigue
• Chronic infections or overgrowths (Lyme, Mycoplasma, H. pylori, STIs, fungal or viral)
Environmental and sensitivity patterns
• Mold exposure, parasites, heavy metals
• Food sensitivities or nutrient deficiencies
Kids and families
• ADHD/ADD patterns, sensory sensitivities, hyperactivity in children
If you don’t see your exact symptoms here, you’re still in the right place. Most patterns overlap; we start with your story.
A different kind of care
Too often, people are treated like a collection of their symptoms—handed a list of supplements or medications with no clear explanation.
I offer a different path. Through functional nutrition, an integrative practice grounded in curiosity and systems thinking, we connect the dots between your symptoms and your body’s inner workings.
This is investigative work: slow, precise, and deeply personal.
You deserve better answers
If you’ve been told your labs are “normal” or your symptoms are “in your head,” you are not alone. Many of my clients arrive feeling unheard and worn down by trial-and-error.
Together, we explore your body’s story with empathy and science as our guide. I act as your health detective, connecting the clues that often get missed when symptoms are treated in isolation.
We build physiological literacy along the way, so you understand your labs, know what questions to ask, and can walk into appointments with more clarity and confidence.
I’m not here to replace your medical team. I’m here to help you participate fully in your care, and to feel heard in the process.
FAQs

Functional Nutrition is an approach that looks at why symptoms are happening rather than focusing only on what to eat. Instead of generalized recommendations or standardized plans, it explores the full context of a person’s health, including digestion, nutrient status, stress, environment, life history, and current capacity.
Conventional nutrition often centers on isolated nutrients, calories, or protocols. Functional Nutrition takes a systems-based view, recognizing that the same food or supplement can have very different effects depending on the individual. My work is rooted in this framework, with an emphasis on personalization, safety, and supporting the body’s innate ability to rebalance over time.
-
I work primarily with adults seeking a deeper understanding of chronic or recurring symptoms, including digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, immune challenges, fatigue, and stress-related concerns. Many clients have tried multiple approaches and are looking for a more thoughtful, root-cause perspective.

Food and supplements are often part of the journey, but they’re never used in isolation. What works well for one person can feel very different for another, especially when digestion, stress, hormones, or sensitivities are involved. Recommendations are personalized and adjusted over time so they feel realistic in daily life and can evolve as your body responds.
-
When appropriate, yes. Labs can provide valuable insights, but they are never interpreted in isolation. Results are always viewed alongside symptoms, history, and lived experience. If you already have lab work, it’s always considered as part of the bigger picture. Not everyone needs testing, and more data is not always better. Labs are used thoughtfully and strategically, not automatically.

Healing rarely happens in a single conversation. The first session is about understanding your full story. The second is about connecting patterns and creating a personalized strategy. The third is where we refine, adjust, and support real-world implementation. This structure allows for depth, safety, and sustainable change, rather than quick fixes that often miss the bigger picture.

This work is complementary and educational and is not a replacement for medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care. I do not diagnose conditions or prescribe medications.
